Lifeguards save dolphin ensnared in rope (California, USA)

January 23rd, 2015. OCEANSIDE, CA — Apparently lifeguards don’t only save humans’ lives – they come to the aid of animals in peril as well.

In this video, a dolphin can be seen getting caught in some discarded rope near Oceanside Pier in California.

A crew took a boat to the dolphin to help and two members of the crew jumped into the water and cut the rope off the dolphin. Finally free, the dolphin swam away on its own and looked to be okay.

However, the lifeguards did say that it had a cut on its tail, but nothing too major.
