Carcass of young Minke whale found lying on rocks in Co Clare (Ireland)

Minke-whale-IrelandAugust 12th, 2015. This footage shows what appears to be the carcass of a young Minke whale that washed up on the rocks at a local swimming spot in Co Clare.

The whale was discovered at Hayes Hole, in Liscannor, by local man Roderick Gallivan.

Roderick was alerted to the presence of the whale and took the footage at about eight o’clock this morning.

Mr Gallivan said that the sightings of the whale aren’t too common in the area.

“You wouldn’t see a lot of whale activity around here,” he said.
