Bathymetric survey works – QEC dredge project (UK)

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that “Boskalis” will be commencing a Bathymetric survey works within Portsmouth Harbour and the Main Approach channel in support of the Capital Dredge Program from 23 November 2015 until 31 July 2016.

2. The survey vessel conducting the Bathymetric operations will be the “Smit Neyland” a 12.4m monohull craft (white upper over a blue hull) and may be operational 7 days per week but limited to day light hours only.

3. It is intended for the “Smit Neyland” to start on the 23 November 2015 (Weather dependent) commencing with a full “Base line” survey of the Harbour which includes the major navigation channels, as far north as Bedenham and the entrance to Port Solent Marina, to the west of Burrow Island and into Haslar Creek.

4. The “Geosurveyor XI”, 21.1m monohull vessel (white upper over a red hull) continues to conducted her magneto survey until early December 2015 with Mariners being reminded that this vessel works throughout the 24 hour period and is towing a line 50m astern.

5. Both vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 11 during operations, and will display appropriate shapes (Ball-Diamond-Ball in a vertical line) or lights (Red-White-Red in a vertical line) when working.

6. Mariners are requested to keep well clear of the vessel(s) whilst surveying if possible.

7. LNTM 96/15 is hereby cancelled.
