September 25th, 2016. Fire has destroyed part of a seal sanctuary and animal park in Lincolnshire tragically killing some of the animals.

The blaze ripped through the education room at Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre on Saturday causing severe damage and also claiming the lives of some reptiles.

The owners posted on Facebook: “A fire has devastated us at Mablethorpe seal sanctuary in our education room… Sadly some of our reptiles have died in the fire and left us heartbroken.”

The owners added: “Now more than ever we need your support to help us rebuild and keep strong to carry on.”

The fire has left the facility fighting for its life and an appeal has already been launched to raise funds.

A visitor to the attraction, who says she enjoyed going as a child, has launched a fundraising page.

The appeal aims to raise £10,000.

The appeal says : “Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre’s education room was sadly destroyed by a fire killing several reptiles. We want to raise as much money as possible to help this centre recover from this devastation and see the education room reopen.”
