January 19th, 2014 (Corey Perrine). Staff Pilot whales are coerced by officials out of Naples Bay Sunday, Jan 19, 2014 at Gordon Pass. About 30 pilot whales were swimming around the mouth of the pass some loping in distress and some beaching. It’s uncertain if theses are the same mammals that are from The Everglades that showed similar habits in Dec. Rookery Bay Estuary, Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Naples Harbor Master, Naples Harbor Patrol and Naples Police Department were all involved in the rescue.
